The Argentine national has now netted 15 Clasico goals at the Bernabeu, more than any other player in history.

Messi broke several records on the way to a comfortable victory over the Cristiano Ronaldo-led Zinedine Zidane outfit.

Arguably the best soccer player in recent history, Messi has separated himself from the pack registering 54 goals in one calendar year, topped off with 200 career assists. The Argentine national has now netted 15 Clasico goals at the Bernabeu, more than any other player in history. He also stands alone with 15 or more goals in a season for 10 seasons.

To add insult to injury, Messi has the most league goals against Real, 17.

The Zidane-managed team started respectably in the first half but were dismantled on the counter in the second. Karim Benzema hit the post and Cristiano Ronaldo was denied by Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Barcelona now leads Real by a comfortable 14 points.

“I know tomorrow I’m going to be hammered for this but I’m here to make decisions and I have no regrets,” Zidane said.

Luis Suarez, Messi and Aleix Vidal were the scorers.
